Ladies and Gentlemen, it's high time for some intoxicating new tunes, which are the perfect soundtrack for the summer-months. So dust yourself off, fill a bucket with ice and some bottles of ale, ask you friends over for a spontaneous party and have a blast with ALL BORO KINGS' first output "Just For The Fun Of It"!
The phrase ALL BORO KINGS rings a bell? Indeed it should, and it's no coincidence: It was not only the most successful album by crossover kings Dog Eat Dog's, but also mostly the brainchild of Dan Nastasi (guitar & vocals), Dave Neabore (bass & vocals) and Sean Kilkenny (guitar & vocals), all of which were members in legendary Mucky Pup as well. While Dave and Sean continued with Dog Eat Dog even to this day, Dan Nastasi decided to fully concentrate on his family and birth of his child for the next few years after the release of "All Boro Kings". Still, the three always stayed in touch and when an old producer friend of theirs, Tim Gilles, was putting together the compilation "New York Hardest Vol. 3" (out on Go-Kart Records) he alled the trio and asked if they'd get back together to chip in some tunes. It was not only said and done. It was the birth of ALL BORO KINGS. After John "Booge" Milnes joined in on drums it didn't take long until they hit New Jersey's Big Blue Meenie Studios with aforementioned Tim Gilles (who had worked on bands like Thursday, Agnostic Front, S.O.D., Hatebreed, V.O.D., Skarhead, or even Tracy Bonham and Red House Painters - just to mention a few) co-producing and engineering "Just For The Fun Of It". This debut offers 12 pure-bred "party core" tunes that combine the very best of hardcore, rap and punk, layered with catchy choruses and monster guitars.
For special guest-appearances people like Dog Eat Dog frontman John Connor ("Blowin' Smoke"), Murphy's Law singer Jimmy Gestapo ("12 Pack") or ex-Anthrax guitarist Paul Crook and Dog Eat Dog Saxman Scott Mueller ("Broke Drunk") popped into the studio to create the ultimate party force. For the album artwork the boys decided to go back to the basics. They hired long time Dog Eat Dog artist Greg Jerome to design some new characters based on the old DED albums. "Just For The Fun Of It" is a party record for sure, but ABK fully embrace the straight edge community as well. "We don't care if you drink or not, everyone is invited to the party" says bassist Dave Neabore, "We made this record for fun, and had fun making it too... that's so rare these days!".
ALL BORO KINGS is all about fun, fun, fun and nothing but having a good time. Whoever wants to let the good times roll will be pleased as much as anybody who has followed the Mucky Pup and Dog Eat Dog family tree.
