After their debut album "As Long As You Want This" became a big hit in The Netherlands, things started to happen for Kane. Concerts all over the place, and now they're trying it outside NL too - starting out in Germany this summer on tour with The Simple Minds. So Glad You Made It is not what you might have expected from Kane, having heard their debut CD. It's no longer straight-forwarded rock. Kane combines dance and pop influences with a little bit of rock on this album. "Free" is the opener and really kicks in with the heavy guitars and the great voice from lead singer Dinand Woesthoff. The first 5 songs will be what you can expect from Kane, but after that the album takes another turn - leaving room for spacey effects and strings. But it all sounds natural, listen to "Mother" and you know what I mean. "Hold On To The World", one of my favorites from this album, is a good single-candidate. "Crazy Warnings" is a soft, pop song with keyboards, piano, bass and drums as the main instruments. The most strange song on this album has to be "Our Hearts Will Beat As One". A very cold beat in it with warm lyrics. The latter two songs on the album are of great quality: "Alone" and "What If" close this strange but after a close listen, very intense and fantastic record by Kane. This album is made with dedication for music and Kane deserves to be discovered in and outside of Europe :) The 5 stars more than worth.
