Issued in 2007, THE PURSUIT BEGINS WHEN THIS PORTRAYAL OF LIFE ENDS marks the sophomore outing by Canadian heavy-rock band Evans Blue. Sticking staunchly to a straight-ahead, post-grunge formula, the Toronto-based ensemble excels at moody anthems that showcase frontman Kevin Matisyn's expressive voice, particularly "The Pursuit," a brooding track revealing the strong influence of A Perfect Circle.
