Album Description
Available in:
God's Own Medicine is the first album by The Mission, released in November 1986 by Mercury Records. Three singles were released from the album, "Stay With Me", "Wasteland" and "Severina".
A remastered version appeared in June 2007 with four bonus tracks including the original intro to "Love Me to Death" that had to be cut due to the time restraints of vinyl. Consequently its insertion has not been taken into account in the tracklist of the remaster - listing the two tracks as "Love Me to Death (Original Full Length Version)" - and thus all tracks after 11 are mislabelled as being one track ahead of where they actually appear on the album.
God's Own Medicine was produced by Tim Palmer and the Mission and recorded at Ridge Farm and Utopia Studios. It was certified Gold in the UK.
The LP version does not include "Island in the Stream" and "Blood Brother".
"Wasteland" was used in the 1980s TV show Miami Vice in the third series episode "Theresa", first broadcast on 13 February 1987.
