Album DescriptionAvailable in:
Blood, Sweat and Tears is the fifteenth album by singer Johnny Cash, released in 1963 (see 1963 in music). It is, in essence, a collection of songs about the American working man. This includes "The Legend of John Henry's Hammer" and "Busted", the latter of which would become a single and both of which would make a reappearance five years later on one of Cash's most famous records, At Folsom Prison.
The album's title is inspired by a quote from Winston Churchill, in which he says he can offer "nothing but blood, toil, tears, and sweat."
