Label Description NPG Records is an independent record label founded by Prince in 1993. It was created during Prince's feud with Warner Bros. over ownership and artistic freedom and a short time before Paisley Park Records ceased its operations. The label, short for ‘New Power Generation’, shares its name with Prince's band at the time and a song on Graffiti Bridge. NPG records has released Prince/ SymbolSmallerBlue.png albums and singles as well as records by The New Power Generation and side-projects with Pressing And Distribution deal (P&D deal) with record companies or digitally with Prince's official websites or general platforms. While Paisley Park Records was a conventional joint-venture with Warner Bros. Records, Prince used NPG Records to explore new and unconventional ways to distribute his music. Artists who recorded for NPG Records include Larry Graham, Chaka Khan, Andy Allo, Támar Davis, Mayte, Liv Warfield, Bria Valente and Judith Hill. The label is currently run by the Estate.
