Conny Vandenbos (The Hague, January 16, 1937 – Amsterdam, April 7, 2002) was a Dutch singer best known for her Dutch-language repertoire. She began her career in the AVRO children's choir and made her solo debut in 1960 in the KRO radio program Springplank.

In 1961 she got a record deal with Phonogram Records after her performance at the Belgian Knokke Festival. She also performed in the first episode of the Rudi Carrell show. In 1962 she participated in the preliminaries of the Eurovision Song Contest, where she came third with the song "Zachtjes".

In 1965 she represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "'t Is genoeg", with which she reached eleventh place. A year later she had her first hit with "Ik ben gelukkig zonder jou". Her record company also tried to make her known abroad by having her sing in English and German, but international success failed to materialize.

In 1974 she switched to record company Basart Records International and released the album "Een vrouw van deze tijd". Her biggest hit in the seventies was "Een roosje, m'n roosje". Other hits from that period were "Sjakie van de hoek", "Drie zomers lang" and "Ome Arie". Many of her well-known songs were covers of other artists with Dutch lyrics.

In 1977 she received an Edison and a Golden Harp from Conamus for the album "Zo wil ik leven". In the eighties she had a theater program together with Ted de Braak and performed in the revue of André van Duin. She also had her own tour de chant and was regularly seen on television. She also starred in musicals such as "Boefje" and "Heimwee".

In 1979 she was elected Woman of the Year in Belgium. At that time she recorded an album with songs by Janis Ian, including "De andere kant van de maan" (a cover of Ian's "The Other Side of the Sun"). Together with Ian she also recorded the duet "Don't leave tonight". In 1989 she had a small success in the Netherlands with "Stapelgek op jou" with Wim Rijken. In 1993 she received gold for her album "14 Grootste Hits Van Conny Vandenbos".

In the nineties she presented radio programs at, among others, Radio Noordzee (Nationaal), Omroep West and Radio M Utrecht. In 1998 she was allowed to give the points for the Netherlands during the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2000 a tile of her was placed in the Rotterdam Walk of Fame.

Conny Hollestelle, as her real name was, was the eldest child and only daughter of hairdresser Johannes Antonius Hollestelle and his wife Petronella Werner. She was the sister of singer Peter Hollestelle. She went to high school and took ballet, singing and speech lessons.

In 1959 she married Wim van den Bos, with whom she had a daughter. After their divorce in 1965, she decided to keep the name Conny Vandenbos as her stage name. Her second marriage was to Ger Faber, the bassist of the Leedy Trio, with whom she had a son.

Conny Vandenbos passed away on April 7, 2002 at the age of 65 from lung cancer. She is buried at Rusthof Cemetery in Leusden.
