Conducta, born to Nigerian parents in Bristol, is a powerhouse in the UK Garage scene. At just 26 years old, he has become a force to reckon with, demonstrating maturity and resilience beyond his years in a complex and often challenging music industry. The early experiences of grappling with major labels, dealing with industry anomalies, and enduring personal trauma have not only tested his mettle but also enriched his outlook, making him a self-determined and optimistic young man who's shaping the future of UK Garage.

Inspired by the 'ta' in Skepta, Conducta's moniker signals his love for music which was nourished by his eclectic musical diet of '90s R&B, Bad Boy-era rap, New Jack Swing, and UK Garage (UKG). His fascination with the music television channel MTV Base as a child, and his interest in understanding the evolution and intersections of different genres have informed his unique approach to music production.

Conducta has always been intrigued by both British and American Black music, which is apparent in his own music production. His appreciation for Black British dance music has roots in hours spent listening to MC-led tape-packs from raves, gifted by his godbrother. This exposure to Sun City and Garage Nation recordings, and later to grime and dubstep, has strongly influenced his music.

In 2019, Conducta launched Kiwi Rekords, a label committed to promoting UKG talent. The idea for the name was born on the way to Bestival, from a snack box that included kiwis. The sweet and sharp flavor of the fruit captured the essence of what he wanted his label's sound to be.

Conducta is not only a music producer and DJ but also a visionary. His aspirations for Kiwi Rekords are grand. Drawing inspiration from the success of Bad Boy records and Defected, he hopes that Kiwi Rekords will become a similar mainstay in the music industry.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 lockdown, Conducta has remained industrious. From transforming his living room into a makeshift club to working on a new EP that encapsulates his multifaceted musical influences, Conducta has proven his adaptability.

Conducta’s early years were not only consumed by music but also by football. He was a gifted footballer with the potential to pursue it professionally. However, his father's focus on traditional academia led him away from the sport. It was a news story about footballer Yaya Touré's lucrative contract with Manchester City that sparked a realization in Conducta. He decided to drop out of university, where he was studying Politics and History, and pursue his passion for music.

Conducta’s love for UKG has its roots in Bristol’s vibrant music scene. He was more interested in grime than dubstep during his teenage years, often crafting grime beats. His first grime instrumental was called ‘Keep Talking.’ His music received early recognition when Joker, a well-known DJ, played one of his tracks on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Today, Conducta's DJ sets are a mix of house, garage, and bassline, illustrating his ability to weave different genres together seamlessly. His love for music and history have come together in his career, allowing him to create musical experiences that resonate with a new generation of ravers.
