Flower is a post-punk noise/pop band from NYC that existed from 1986-1990 featuring later members of Versus (Richard Baluyut, Ed Baluyut), French (Ian James, Andrew Bordwin), Cell (Ian James), The Pacific Ocean (Ed Baluyut), and Ruby Falls (Andrew Bordwin). Featuring the Baluyut brothers on guitar, James on bass, and Bordwin on drums, Flower was a staple of the NYC underground scene carved out by Sonic Youth, Live Skull, Swans, etc, utilizing the noise element of the aforementioned artists to deepen the textures of more classically oriented pop songs. Flower reunited for The Big Takeover anniversary shows in the summer of 2010 and again in July 2014 and are currently working on a new album, and have returned to performing live regularly as of 2017.
