1) Magnolian started off as a collaboration between members of dream-pop band The Fragile and The November in 2008. The members then joined together to form a permanent line-up which eventually became Magnolian. Drawing from the influences of experimental & minimalist artists for the like of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mono, Sigur Ros, Explosion in the Sky, Philip Glass, Arvo Part, etc., the band intends to play emotional yet contemplative music. Their sound ranges from classical influenced chamber music to clean guitar bliss to heavy distortion crescendos, and to extreme noise of guitar feedback. The band can be seen as an attempt of the members to reflect upon life and being.
