Artist Biography Available in: Zone Libre is a musical project gravitating in a timeless space with no codes. Interlaced guitars and melodies, along with brutal rhythm make Zone Libre a place of endless possibility. Three unique musicians look deep within themselves and through one another, investigating sound and their own limits.
Previously united in the Scrape Project duo, Cyril Bilbeaud (drummer with Sloy, then Theo Hakola, now participating in numerous musical projects) and Marc Sens (experimental guitarist who performs on his own and has also accompanied Yann Tiersen for the last 5 years) join Serge Teyssot-Gay (guitarist for Noir Désir and the Interzone project, who has led numerous text-lead solo projects).
Zone Libre is about celebrating total freedom through fusional improvisation. Zone Libre experiments without limits in a spirit of punk-influenced liberty. Their music evokes a calm Naked City and brings to mind the image of John Zorn drinking with Fred Frith in a bar – with Painkiller playing in the background.
