Artist Biography
Available in:
Shack is a British alternative rock band from Liverpool, England. He was trained in 1987 by Mick Head, John Head, Justin Smith and Mick Hurst.

Before founding Shack, the Head brothers were famous in the 1980s with the band The Pale Fountains which after several successes separated in 1986.

In 1987, they decided to form Shack and sign with Ghetto Records. Their first album under this label, Zilch is a commercial failure and goes unnoticed. In 1991, the band recorded their second album, Waterpistol, but the release was delayed by the fire of Star Street Studio in London where all the bands were destroyed. Only a Digital Audio Tape remains in the possession of producer Chris Allison. In the meantime, Ghetto Records filed for bankruptcy and the group decided to separate.
Finally Waterpistol was released in 1995 on an independent German label, Marina.

In 1998, Iain Templeton and Ren Parry joined the Head Brothers and reformed the Shack band. In 1999, Parry was replaced on the bass by Guy Rigby who himself was replaced after his death in 2004 by Peter Wilkinson.

In 2006, the group signed with the Noel Gallagher label, Sour Mash and released in May 2006, The Corner of Miles and Gil.
