Gino Marinuzzi jr. ( New York , 7 April 1920 - Rome , 8 November 1996 ) was a musician and composer Italian .
Son of composer and conductor Gino Marinuzzi , was born in New York during a tour of the father in the United States.
Milan musical training, began his career very young and before he graduated in composition, piano and conducting at the conservatory in Milan at sixteen he composed his first work, Concertino , and several compositions for piano. Intense was, until 1943 , its production for solo instrument and orchestra, a production that did count among the musical avant-garde of those years.
He spent two years - from 1943 to 1945 - in a concentration camp Nazis , who were born from the experience of camp songs , a composition for piano four hands with which they were developed themes of Russian folk songs learned from Soviet prisoners, his fellow prisoners.
After marrying the pianist Liana Santaroni, his partner of conservatory and a recipient of some of his compositions for piano, in 1946 Marinuzzi jr. He moved to Rome, where he worked for a time as a substitute teacher at the Opera House. Since then he has lived in the capital doing work as a composer and teacher.
In the sixties and seventy is mainly dedicated to music for film , theater , radio and television , to resume composing for orchestra, in the eighties . Particular emphasis has played the pioneering role he played in musical research and experimentation, carried out since the early fifties , in the field of electronic music .
He is the father of the singer and guitarist Joan Marinuzzi .
