Saadet Türköz is a Kazakh-Turkish singer, actress and composer, known for Journey of Hope (1990) and La Dada: King Deer (2016).
She grew up in Istanbul as the daughter of Kazakh migrants, living in Zurich since the 1980s. She first worked as a journalist, translator in the field of asylum and shiatsu practitioner. As adults, they found the culture of their homeland East Turkestan. After initially partly folk-inspired recordings, Türköz has opened in recent years compared to the improvised music and recorded the sound of languages present in their work. In addition, further interpretations of Turkish and Kazakh music characterize their performances and productions. In addition to solo performances, it occurs occasionally in duos, trios and larger formations freely improvising (jazz) musicians.
Türköz works in duets with Nils Wogram (Switzerland / Germany), Martin Schütz (Switzerland) ;, Urs Leimgruber (Switzerland), Pascal Schaer (Switzerland), Jacques Widmer (Switzerland), Elliott Sharp (USA), Okkyung Lee (Korea, USA ); Eyvind Kang (USA), Peggy Lee (USA), Xu Fengxia (China / Germany), Carl Stone (USA / Japan) and Miya Masaoka (USA).
She has appeared in a trio with Fredy Studer, drums and guest instrumentalist (Urumchi-Uyghur Region / Switzerland) and with Urs Leimgruber, saxophone and Uwe Oberg, Piano (Switzerland / Germany), Satoshi Takeishi and Mark Dresser and Okkyung Lee (Korea / USA ) and with Larry Ochs and Miya Masaoka, (USA).
Quartets it formed the trio "what we live": Larry Ochs, Lisle Ellis, Don Robinson, (USA) and with the trio Koch-Schütz-Studer (Switzerland). She has also performed with the quintet "Blast" in which they with Dirk Bruinsma (Holland), Paed Conca (Switzerland), Frank Crijns, (Holland) and Fabrizio Spera, (Italy) works.
