Cæsar was the moniker of Danish protest singer Bjarne Bøgesø Rasmussen (born i 1938, died 22nd of April 2000).
He emerged in the 1960s and quickly became popular due to protest songs like "Storkespringvandet" and more humourist and songs with 'adult' lyrics like "Flickan fin fin" og "I Holmens gade, i røvens kælder".
He was initially known as a Copenhagen folk singer, but quickly after releasing his first songs he caused an uproar in the established musical society for his explicit lyrics use. Releasing the majority of his works in the 1960s and '70s he was never really accepted or appreciated for his musical talent until early before his death, where his collected works were also re-released.
He is also known for his contributions to many children song albums, most of these in collaboration with Peter Abrahamsen.
