Alex Wiska (* 12. November 1950 in Dattenfeld; † 3. März 2011 in Siegburg) was a German musician, his style was called turkish rock. He founded Alex Oriental Experience (AOE) 1980 in Cologne, the band existed till his death in 2011 with a three-year break from 2006 to 2009. Especially his first two records with members of Can (Holger Czukay / bass, electronics, Jaki Liebezeit / drums and Irmin Schmidt / keyboards) are in a typical Turkish rock style. His later work was more rock-oriented with less Turkish influence based on the sound of his electrified saz as the main instrument. Manni von Bohr (drums) and Horst Stachelhaus (bass) were part of this trio which had its main fan base in Cologne, also due to those two writing gear reviews for the German music magazine Fachblatt based in Cologne, a novelty in the German music journalism landscape in the late 70s. Alex Oriental Experience also appeared on the famous WDR Rockpalast TV show in 1985 and 1992.
