Artist BiographyAvailable in:
"Sadie Jemmett" (born 16 December 1970) is an award winning British singer-songwriter based in London.
Sadie was born in Cambridge, and had a bohemian, runaway childhood. A major turning point came aged 12 when she discovered music and subsequently taught herself guitar. Between the ages of 14 and 21, Sadie Jemmett played in the bands African Ambassadors, Bridge, Easter Island and, most successfully, Soil. She wrote the music for plays at the Galway Arts Theatre, and toured around Europe with The Rose Theatre Company, writing the music and performing in the show "13 Mirrors" which received 5 star reviews in the Edinburgh Festival.
Every one of Sadie Jemmett’s kaleidoscopic experiences has helped to shape her into a potent singer‐songwriter who stands in the great lineage of the art from classic era Joni Mitchell and Neil Young to the likes of David Gray and Ryan Adams today, and yet who shines out as a profoundly unique voice.
