Artist Biography
Available in: gb icon
Formed in 1980 in Wellington, New Zealand from the dregs of the Ambitious Vegetables, led by lead singer Andrew Fagen who was well known as a night club name at the time. Their 1985 hit Forever Tuesday Morning has become a durable Kiwi classic. The band eventually broke up in the late 1980s after releasing five albums, with Fagen going on to a moderately successful local solo career. The Mockers also had success with the 1985 single 'One Black Friday' from the album 'Culprit and The King'. The song is about a riot in Queen Street, Auckland, NZ on Friday 7th December 1984. The Mockers and other New Zealand bands performed in Aotea Square, Queen Street on that day.
