"Human Fortress" are a power metal band from Hanover, Germany that strives for an epic feel with their music, calling their music "epic battle metal".
The band was founded in 1997 under the name Timezone and recorded a demo in the same year. Unfortunately the band split up before the material could be released. After re-uniting in the summer of 1999, the band decided to change its name to Human Fortress. A new demo was recorded (at Hannover's "Airport Studio") and released later that year.
