"Cherri Bomb" is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formerly an all-female band consisting of drummer/vocalist Nia Lovelis , rhythm guitarist / keyboardist / vocalist Miranda Miller , bassist/vocalist Rena Lovelis , and lead guitarist/lead vocalist Julia Pierce , Pierce would be replaced by lead guitarist Casey Moreta .
Formed in 2008, Cherri Bomb was founded by guitarist Julia Pierce at age 11, who wanted to start an all-girl rock band upon moving to California. Pierce put out ads on casting websites and drummer Nia Lovelis responded and, together, they began looking for other musicians to play with. This led to the video submission from guitarist Miranda Miller, where she played keyboard, rhythm guitar, and sang vocals. Still needing a bassist after having lost the previous bass player, Lovelis' sister, Rena Lovelis, decided to join the band as well. According to Pierce, "We went from rehearsing once or twice a weekend to being home schooled and rehearsing every day. We went from playing covers in a really small music shop to performing at Reading Festival and Soundwave Festival in Australia". Casey Moreta was asked to join the band while performing on stage at the Viper Room. He has remained a member of the band.
