amGod is a German Dark Electro - / crossover project, which in December 1993 by Dominik van Reich after the separation of music formation yelworC was founded in Munich. The lyrics are both German-and English speaking. Today's Sound of amGod is dominated by electric sounds and heavy guitar riffs.
The name has its origin from the word dogma , symbolizing the first commandment (any religion) in the reverse direction ( dogma I = I am god = I am God ). amGod is the narcissism very similar in meaning. It refers not only to the artist himself, but to the selfishness within the meaning of monotheism each individual.
In 1994 the debut Half Rotten and Decayed on the label Celtic Circle Productions, accompanied by several compilation contributions. A video to a gig on 25 June 1994 to the fifth "Night of Darkness" festival in Krefeld appeared in the same year on VHS. The second album Crime! was released in 1999 and was originally only available as a download. All three works were in the 4-CD box set 2004 Half Rotten and Decayed (including an audio CD of the "Night of Darkness" concert) re-released with some bonus tracks.
After prolonged abstinence and over a year of studio work in November 2010, the third album Dream Catcher was published, which deals with the depths of humanity and the decline of today's society.
