The Monolith Deathcult is a Dutch metal band, formed in 2002 in Overijssel, the Netherlands. The band is particularly noted for vicious internet campaigns, often causing them to get into scrapes with other people. They also have a history of going against the grain in what the band perceives as the strict unwritten rules of the metal scene. For example, they would repeatedly state that they are not in the underground and are working on a commercial basis, both of which are considered faux-pas if not undesirable.
