Artist Biography Available in: De Randfichten is a popular music group. It was founded in 1992 in Johanngeorgenstadt in the Erzgebirge.
In 1992, Thomas "Rups" Unger and Michael "Michl" Rusty the original Arzgebirgschen Randfichten. The name Randfichten means the trees at the edge of a forest that are particularly exposed to the weather and therefore need to be especially strong and resilient. Unger and Rusty played first predominantly in private. As of 1995, they were supported for two years by Doris Mühlig († 2004) on the guitar. In August 1996 they were the first time on television (MDR). 1997 joined Thomas "LautT" Lauterbach to the group, which calls itself since 2000 De Randfichten.
The debut album Do whistles dr fox ... was released in 1997. The fox was the mascot of the trio and thus popular (in the form of stuffed) accessory for fans of the group. After several appearances on local television programs, including Achim charts, De Randfichten 2000, awarded by the MDR named after Herbert Roth Award as the best young band. In 2001 she wrote the music for the MDR-docu-soap Ski healing on Fichtelbergbahn. The following year she founded her own record label Rafi records.
