"The Meteors" were a Dutch rock band that was active mainly from 1977 to 1982.
The group was founded in late 1977 by Ferdinand Baker (guitar), Job Tarenskeen (drums), who had both played in Alquin, and singer and songwriter Hugo Sinzheimer (pseudonym Hugo Postma, he used his mother's name as a stage name ).
The Meteors released three LPs , Teenage Heart in 1979 followed by Hunger 1980 and Stormy Seas in 1982. The Meteors were successful in the Dutch club circuit and belonged to a generation of rock bands that were not punk but more to the Dutch version of the new wave.
