Artist Biography Santhosh Narayanan is an Indian film composer and musician in the Tamil film industry. Santhosh Narayanan made his debut as a film composer in the 2012 Tamil film Attakathi. Since then he has composed and scored background for films like Pizza, Uyir Mozhi and Soodhu Kavvum.
Santhosh Narayanan did his schooling in RSK Higher Secondary School, Tiruchirappalli and college in J. J. College of Engineering and Technology, Tiruchirapalli. He scored the music including two songs for the acclaimed short film Advaitham The next year he made his debut as a music director in the Tamil film Attakathi. For that film he produced two gaana songs which were sung by Gana Bala. The songs became popular and made Gana Bala a star and he was said to have brought back gaana to Tamil cinema.Sify wrote, "The Gaana based songs in the film tuned by Santhosh Narayanan and sung by various Gaana singers is one of the major highlight of the film". Behindwoods called it "An experimental yet fresh attempt by debut composer Santhosh Narayanan". For Attakathi he received the Jaya TV 2012 award for Sensational Debutant Music Director.
After Attakathi he composed the music for the films Uyir Mozhi and Pizza. All three albums, Attakathi, Uyir Mozhi and Pizza were recorded and mastered by Leon Zervos at Studios 301 in Australia. The Sydney Symphony Orchestra had also performed for the soundtrack of Pizza. About his work in Pizza, Sify wrote, "The background score and music of Santosh Narayan (Attakathi fame) is a major plus". Indiaglitz.com listed the song "Mogathirai" in their Top songs from 2012 list. Behindwoods at the end of 2012 wrote that, "Santosh Narayanan brought a different sound to Tamil cinema this year. Even his gaana tracks in Attakathi were freshly produced and the soundtrack of Pizza was eclectic to say the least". Santhosh won the Big Tamil Melody Award for Best Debut Music director for Pizza.
He has a Masters in Audio Engineering from a reputed Australian university.
