Artist Biography

Danzel is a Belgian musician of house, techno and dance, who reached the number 11 in the UK Singles Chart in November 2004 with the single, "Pump It Up!".
"You Are All Of That" was the first single released by Ministry Of Sound in late 2003. It sampled Sylvester James's Hi-NRG Classic hit "Do you wanna funk?" The first single of the Belgian DJ Johan was a total failure, reaching the Number 69 in the UK Dance Chart. The single was not promoted outside the UK and Ireland, where it peaked at Number 85.

"Pump It Up!" is the second single from the Belgian DJ Johan, remixing a late 1990s hit originally recorded by the Black & White Brothers. The single was released by Ministry Of Sound UK and did relatively well, selling more than 500,000 copies worldwide. In the singles' charts it reached number 11 in the UK, number 7 in Germany, number 11 in France and number 9 in Australia. In the more specific dance and club charts it did even better, becoming number 2 in the UK, number 3 in Australia and number 15 in the US.

"Put Your Hands Up in the Air!" is the third single from the Belgian DJ Johan, released in 2005. This is a remix of Black and White Brothers' hit song with the same title from 1998. The single was released in the UK in May 2005, but did not chart in the UK Official Singles Chart. The single was a hit in the UK Dance Chart, reaching the Number 6 and was a hit in the UK clubs. The single was released one month later in Europe and Asia, but it has not generated much interest outside the UK, peaking at the #40 in Ireland and France, and in Germany peaked at #52. In the US, the single charted only in the USA Chart.

The fourth single, "My Arms Keep Missing You" was released again by Ministry Of Sound, and it has been released in the summer of 2006. Danzel's single was a cover of the 1988 single by British singer Rick Astley, under the same name and was done with British DJ F.R.A.N.K. The single did not perform as well as "Pump It Up!", being released only in Australia, peaking at the position Number 74. The single was also released in the Spain, but only as a physical release. The single had a minor success in the Ibiza Clubs. In Spain, the single was included in a summer compilation album called Disco Estrella Volume 9, which was released by the Spanish record label ValeMusic Spain, a subsidiary of SonyBMG Spain. The single released in late 2006 in the UK.

The single featured in the UK Dance Chart, rising to Number 9.
