Purusam was a hardcoreband from Skellefteå, Sweden that existed between 1994-1999. At the end of their career they relocated to Umeå, Sweden.

Originally they played a more traditional style of hardcore with metal influences and having a female vocalist. Later they became more of a metal band with influences from Slayer, Cardigans, Helloween, Gamma Ray and Iron Maiden, with a touch of classical music and german speed metal.
