In a haze
of melancholy
we wander
endlessly
through fields and wilderness
finding ourselves
on the porch
of an abandoned
beachfront property;
listening
to the
same song
we've heard
a thousand times
the corporeal memory
of you
evaporates
from my sight
and I am
once again
in the solitude
of my desire.
I am thankful
yet I am
empty.
