Album DescriptionAvailable in:
Times Squared is the first solo studio album by Eric Leeds, and was released in February 1991 (on the same day as Contribution by Mica Paris, also featuring musical input by Prince). Nine of the eleven tracks were written or co-written by Prince and contain him playing most instruments, with Eric Leeds playing saxophone and minimal contributions from other musicians. In addition, Prince appears on Kenya, one of the two remaining tracks, as a musician.
User Album Review
Former Prince protege and bandmember Eric Leeds steps forward with an album that's more rock and pop than fusion, and certainly not a traditional hard bop, mainstream, or soul jazz project. But there are some interesting songs, Leeds plays with spirit, and it had some appeal with the light jazz audience, as well as Prince fans.
