Track Description
Available in:
"Bottom of the River" is a song by Canadian indie rock band Tom Fun Orchestra from their debut album You Will Land with a Thud (2008). A music video for the song was directed by Alasdair+Jock.

"Nominated at Tuesday's MVAs for Best Animation in a Video, Alasdair Brotherston and Jock Mooney's promo for Canadian band Tom Fun Orchestra is a beautifully-crafted silhouette animation, featuring a motley crew of bin bags that come lugubriously to life in their watery dumping ground. Bottom Of The River was inspired by Lotte Reiniger's Prince Achmed and animated in a mix of 2D and 3D. Then it was composited with backgrounds hand-painted on acetate to give a murky, underwater aesthetic. The result is utterly charming - with an eco message to boot. This is Alasdair and Jock's second promo for TFO following last year's Throw Me To The Rats - which featured live-action cut-outs of grotesque stage performers. That won best music video at the Nickel Independent Film Festival and went on to be nominated for a Nova Scotia award. And there are probably more honours to come for this one."
