User Album Review
Name your Nocturnal Rites, your Saint Deamons and Moonvilles, and you know what I’m talking about. A strong focus on melodies, each one more soaring than the one before, with driving rhythm guitars to keep the structure standing. The opening title track is a perfect example of this style, but Lancer is not just limited to their national inheritance. “Dreamchasers” sounds like a crossbreed of Hammerfall and Iron Savior, something you’d never thought you wanted to hear until now. The closer “Mr. Starlight” presses in the gas pedal even more and could’ve been a long lost Helloween-song from Walls Of Jericho. So what, these guys go from Swedish to German power metal in THREE songs? Yes, they do.
Safe to say this is a catchy collection of power metal songs and my only complaint is that there just isn’t enough. Sort it out, Lancer, I can’t keep repeating this forever! In all earnestness, put these guys on your radar, they might try and blow it up at some point, and I strongly encourage them to try. --- blackwindmetal.com Rating: 3.75 out of 5
