User Album Review
The German hip-hop magazine Juice awarded Sonny Black 5 out of 6 possible crowns in its April 2014 issue and also compared it to Bushido's debut album Vom Bordstein zur Skyline in its review. She summed it up by saying that it "remains unrivaled in the end, but "Sonny Black" is still able to provide excellent entertainment on LP length." In particular, the effect of Bushido's voice "on mighty thundering zeitgeist instrumentals" or "beats exclusively embellished by melancholy strings" as well as Bushido's overall staging as a provocateur were positively emphasized. The magazine concluded: "Nobody still plays the humorless gangster as convincingly as Bushido."[38]
