Album DescriptionAvailable in:
November 2007. The good citizens of Northampton are living their merry lives of goth rock and fist-fights, little knowing that, ensconced in a lofty and leafy studio in the heart of the town, ten starry-eyed young Bison are hard at work. Their hooves carry the tale of a summer's trudging through every kind of mud from Glastonbury to Midlothian and back again, in the wettest summer of festivals on record. Somewhere along the way Suzy Sunshine Bus has been stolen and Andy Weatherall has been annoyed. They have a saddlebag full of songs and a couple of grand in sterling. They have a mixing desk bearing traces of Johnny Rotten’s gob and other fluids from Freddie Mercury. Orange is still their favourite colour. After Eight and Primula sandwiches are still their favourite food. They are ready.
This is Saturday Big Shop, Bison's fourth album. The themes tackled herein include:
Barbra Streisand; the pubs of Leek, Staffs; jeb-ends; blue Rizlas; Football Focus; bad cartoons; pickled onion Monster Munch; unpaid gas bills; the likely environmental benefits of listening to Michael Jackson's Earth Song; Facebook relationship detailing anxiety.
So please, put your shopping away, throw on something orange, and enjoy.
