Album Description
Available in:
"Changing Horses" is the fifth album by the Incredible String Band, released in 1969 on the Elektra label. It was the first record released by the band after they had converted to the Church of Scientology and openly given up drugs, alluded to in one of the tracks, "White Bird" and in the album title. The album is dominated by two lengthy tracks, "White Bird" by Mike Heron and "Creation" by Robin Williamson. The two songs comprise more than half of the 50 minute length of the album; lyrics are given only for these two songs. The chorus of "White Bird" consists of a melody line that Heron taken from the Hindi film song "Aayega aanewala" by Lata Mangeshkar, from the 1949 film Mahal.
