Estudios en Ibiza, España, fue lanzado en todo el mundo por Virgin Records. Los partidarios del álbum lo acreditaron como el álbum más maduro que Michael Cretu había creado, mientras que los críticos lamentaron el uso de muestras extensas de Carmina Burana de Carl Orff, a pesar de que solo aparece en cuatro de las once pistas del álbum.
