"Ship to Wreck" is a song by English indie rock band Florence and the Machine from their third studio album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015). It was released on 9 April 2015 as the album's second single. The track premiered on Huw Stephens' show on BBC Radio 1 on 8 April 2015 and the accompanying music video was released on 13 April, following the narrative of band's previous two videos of "What Kind of Man" and "St. Jude".
The song received nominations for Best Rock Video at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
"The tempestuous Florence Welch and director Vincent Haycock are back with a new instalment in a series of videos for her upcoming album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, and once again reality transforms into something far more theatrical, as Florence is caught in an intense struggle with her self-destructive alter-ego. Acting up like a monstrous tantrum-throwing inner child, this alternative Florence is played by Deena Thompson, who also featured Welch and Haycock's lovely video for St Jude. For Ship To Wreck, the setting moves to London, but the visual style and themes established in the previous videos remains - flowing camerawork, passionate relationships evoked through drama and modern dance. This has a stronger focus on Florence's personal demons, shot through with wry humour, as she storms through life in a flurry of violent outbursts and sleeping pills..." (Cat Velez, Promonews)
