Artist Biography

Vendemmian were formed at the end of 1992 after Dave (Guitars) and Mark (Bass) left their previous band (Restoration). They recruited vocalist, Dominic, via an advert in the Melody Maker and soon began writing material which culminated in a self titled demo at the end of 1992.

The early part of 1993 was spent writing new songs and playing live throughout England. A drummer, Robi, was added to the line up and the band recorded their second demo, Lords of Flame. More gigging followed then in September 1993 the band recorded their debut CD “Between Two Worlds” which was released on the Resurrection Records Label.

Just prior to the CD's release Robi left the band and returned to his native Italy and the band reverted back to a three piece and drum machine for the remainder of the year. During the early part of 1994 a new drummer Russ joined and the band began writing for a second CD.

Dominic was then replaced by Matt. As a new four-piece the band entered St Marks studios in North London to record “Through the Depths of Innocence”. After the recording the band played their debut at the Sanctuary Club in London in July. From there they travelled to Germany and Austria for a short tour. At the beginning of 1995 “Treacherous” was released followed by more gigging and an extensive German tour.

Following the German tour Russ departed before a new CD “Transition” was recorded but towards the end of recording Matt left the band. This left the band with no singer and despite a few auditions no replacement was found so Mark discovered his singing talents and the band became a two piece. The “Transition” CD was finished early in 1996 and again more live dates followed including trips to America and more dates in Germany.

In 1996 the band also organised and played the Sacrosanct Festival at London’s Astoria to coincide with the CD Single release ”Wake You Up”. A couple more gigs were played towards the end of the year and then the band began work on their 6th CD "One Eye Open”

“One Eye Open” was released in March 97 followed by a few UK dates and then the final gig at The Tower in Dublin.

After this gig the band broke up for a few years then reformed to produce the seminal album One in a Million only to break up again.
