Artist Biography Available in: Alfredo Marcucci ( Ensanada , Argentina , September 14, 1929 - Landen , Belgium , June 12, 2010 ) was a bandoneon player and conductor who mainly played Argentinian tango .
cHe learned to play bandoneon from his uncle Carlos Marcucci , himself also a well-known bandoneon virtuoso. Together with his uncle he played in the band of the famous violinist and composer Julio de Caro . Later he became a member of the orchestra of Carlos Di Sarlis with which he made numerous recordings. In Istanbul he came into contact with Paraguayan band Los Paraguayos , with whom he made various worldwide tours.
In 1976 he stopped making music and went to work in Belgium as a caretaker in a plastic factory. Dirk Van Esbroeck and Juan Masondo managed to convince Marcucci to play bandoneon on their album Tango Al Sur in 1985 . After that he remained active as a musician. One of his last recordings was with the band El Juntacadáveres .
