( Amsterdam , November 9, 1960 ) is a Dutch lyrical dramatic soprano.
Ingrid Kapelle initially studied piano, but her vocal talent was discovered during her conservatory studies. In 1988, Ingrid Kappelle completed the last of her vocational courses with solo singing cum laude (opera, solo voice DM and UM, chamber music). Already during her studies in Maastricht and England she performed solistically in opera, oratorio, song recitals and contemporary repertoire. With ensembles specialized in contemporary repertoire, world premieres of renowned composers are regularly realized. Her voice has a warm timbre, which is typical of the lyrical dramatic soprano section, matching her character and personality. In the opera area she sang Mozart , Willem Pijper , Van de Putte,Verdi and Strauss .
In her career, many great works by composers from the last 5 centuries stand side by side. The work of Olivier Messiaen is her specialty. The complete repertoire is now recorded on CD (Brilliant Classics) with her pianist, Håkon Austbö .
In addition to her international concert practice, Kappelle worked for 12 years as a principal subject teacher in solo singing at the Maastricht Conservatory. She gave an interpretation course at the Amsterdam Conservatory specifically for the Messiaen repertoire and she is a much sought-after jury member among others for the state examinations solo singing. She gave guest lectures at the Hogeschool voor Logopedie in Rotterdam and has a private practice as a singing teacher. She is also working as a vocalist with choirs in the Netherlands and is a conductor of the Vocal Ensemble Cappella Constancis.
She sang with youth theater Sonnevanck 200 performances of the production Hans and Grietje, including the Nieuw Ensemble without a conductor.
