Myles, herself a former model, dancer and Ms. Staten Island first runner-up, first started singing publically in high school, and even sang the National Anthem at the commencement ceremonies for Pace University in 2008. Her first band experience came with the Brooklyn-based, country/rock band Breezy Grass in 2008, but Myles didn't try her hand at performing solo until she met FrankLazarus, a veteran songwriter and musician. Together, they formed a songwriting partnership that displayed their musical chemistry.
The pair released Myles' first album, THE LINE, in late 2012 to glowing reviews, hailing Cat as one of today's brightest young talents. Rock NYC Live & Recorded named The Line one of the 100 best albums of 2012, and "Waiting for Me," a Myles/Lazarus original, as one of the 100 best songs of that same year, putting Cat alongside such industry heavies as Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Bob Dylan!
Cat took the album on the road in 2013, playing all over her native NYC and around the East Coast. Her show at the Bitter End in April of 2013 was a true higlight, displaying her empassioned vocals and the amazing band interplay that went on behind her. In May, she entered and won the 2013 Staten Island Battle of the Boroughs, allowing her to compete against the best bands in the city.
In 2015, Cat released her new album, GYPSY SOUL. The album shows Myles following her 70's muse, fusing southern rock and r&b with her usual urban soul to create a sound as fresh and exciting as any on the airwaves. Her new band, CAT MYLES & THE POSSESSIONS features a who's who of NYC heavies, including Lazarus, versatile guitarist Matt Phillips, drummer Dave Volano and bassist Gary Nieves Jr.
