Artist Biography
Available in: gb icon
"Formed in 1999, V Shape Mind is Brad Hursh, guitar and lead vocals; Jeff McElyea, guitar; Vic Zientara, bass; and Scott Parjani*, drums. When asked to classify their own musical style, the term "heavy mellow" is used to describe music that combines a heavy vibe with melodic nuances dynamically woven into a canopy of sound that will groove you into submission. With influences ranging from the Beatles to Black Sabbath and everything in between, V SHAPE MIND maintains a musical balance without having to choose sides or remain one dimensional. Long-time friend and singer for Mudvayne, Chad Gray, turned them on to Mudvayne's manager, Chuck Toler, who quickly signed them to his management company, Anger Management." They switched to Universal Records shortly thereafter and produced their album "cul-de-sac," which was truly a testament to their "heavy mellow" song, showcasing their ability to include heavy guitars and a full sound while still maintaining a solid melody throughout. The album is generally known for its single "Monsters" featuring guest vocals by Chad Grey of Mudvayne. Unfortunately, despite their quality music and reasonably successful touring, Universal decided not to continue promoting the band, and they were forced to break up. Lead singer and guitarist Brad Hursh is in the process of writing his own material, which can currently be found online at http://www.myspace.com/bradhursh. *DECATUR - Scott Robert Parjani, 36, died suddenly at home on Sunday, January 3, 2010 in Decatur, IL.
