Artist Biography

Ai Phoenix started up as a trio of good friends (Robert Jønnum, Patrick Lundberg, Mona Mørk) in Bergen , Norway , 1997. Robert recorded a few songs on a 4-track and we gave it to friends. All three entered stage for the first time encouraged by friends and we sent our songs to a few record-companies that we liked.

We had low ambitions when it came to fame and fortune, and high ambitions when it came to independence and finding the right people to work with. ‘Keep the soul from the silver.'

A year later Espen Mellingen joined us, on guitar. Soon after Bosse Litsheim heard that we needed a drummer and lied and said he was one. He soon turned out to be the perfect drummer.

The permanent band-members are now Patrick, Mona, Robert and Bosse. The last five years members from Sister Sonny and Ungdomskulen appear on stage and on the recordings.
