Artist Biography

Hockey is an American indie rock band from Portland, Oregon.
Until October 2010, the band consisted of singer Benjamin Grubin, guitarist Brian Stuart White, bassist Jeremy Reynolds, drummer Anthony Stassi and touring keyboardist Ryan Dolliver, and have been compared in their sound to bands such as The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem. In October 2010 the band announced that Brian White and Anthony Stassi "have left the group to pursue other interests/horizons", as published on their Facebook page.
They released a home-made EP Mind Chaos in 2008 which attracted attention from the likes of Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, and the band are now signed to Capitol Records in the US and Virgin Records in the UK.
Hockey played the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury 2009 They also appeared at the Peace and Love festival in Borlänge, Sweden. In July 2009 they played the Red Bull Bedrooms Jam Futures Stage at the T in the Park festival in Scotland, The have also made appearances at the 2009 Bonnaroo Festival, and the main stage of the 2009 Hove Festival in Norway on 23 June. Hockey played the main stage at Latitude Festival in 2010. The band's debut single "Too Fake" was released in the UK on March 16; it was later made available as iTunes' free single of the week. The band released "Learn To Lose" on June 1 ahead of their debut album Mind Chaos, which was released in the US on September 14 and in the UK on September 28. They appeared on Later with Jools Holland on 24 April 2009. The song "Work" is on the soundtrack for MLB 09: The Show. A remixed version song "Too Fake" is featured in a JCPenney commercial, while the original version appears in the video games NHL 2K10 and Saints Row: The Third. On 16 October 2009, the band played "Too Fake" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. In 2010, Hockey played the Sony Bloggie Stage on the final day of Lollapalooza in Chicago's Grant Park.
In late 2009, the band was chosen as of one Beyond Race Magazine's "50 Emerging Artists," resulting in a spot in the publication's #11 issue (with Bodega Girls and J. Cole on the cover), as well as an exclusive Q&A for the magazine's site.
In 2010 the band's track "Song Away" was adopted as the theme of the podcast Never Not Funny Presents: Rock Solid.
In 2011, their song Too Fake was featured on the British television show Misfits.
In January 2012 the band announced that they have started recording their upcoming album, and hope to have it finished by summer
