Several million viewers on YouTube since January - without marketing. The limited edition of the debut album Atonic Atrocity sold out - without marketing. This is the result of Nomy's releasing his songs for free on the Internet, opening up his self produced collection of music to the public. The Swedish artist from Jönköping is a tremendous success thanks to the most music friendly platform of the 21th century - WorldWideWeb.
Due to the many requests from his fanbase he decided to re-launch his website nomy.nu in May 2008. The website is rapidly growing with already over half a thousand unique visitors a day. Here all songs made through the years can be found, everything free of charge, and the selection of songs is steadily growing.
Since a couple of years back Nomy has had a faithful fanbase and with the song Cocaine he's finally taking over every other Swedish citizen's cell phone and his music keeps spreading. Websites like allears.se, mysapce.com and youtube.com have brought their attention to him and people of all kinds have created their own videos, accompanied by his music. On allears.se Nomy had the top ten spots at the same time with his different songs, as well as had the privelige to had his music played on TV.
Nomy is a one-man band and the most of his music comes from his computer. It's a way that gives the artist complete freedom and maximum control of his works. Having said that, he's always on the lookout for musicians that one day can back him up on the big stage. With all the invitations he keeps receiving it's not a question of "if" he's going to take the final step, it's "when". And when that day comes he will finally be able to interact with his audiences on an eye to eye basis. It's going to be close and personal, just how he wants it. In the song Time Nomy sings "What I give is who I am", a phrase that can speak for itself. All Nomy's song are based on feelings. This is what makes it understandable how the songs can go from an easygoing ballad to hard metal - the music doesn't follow the generic standards but follows Nomy's thoughts and feelings. However, he has a special sound, one that is always recognizable as his own.
According to his own saying Nomy wants to create music that the people want - music to hum a long to when you fold laundry. Leaving this aside, the music always goes through the machinery that is Nomy and the end result is always highly personal.
A record deal has been a reoccuring dream but with the help of the Internet Nomy has reached his goal - to reach to his fans - who grows ever so steadily.
