Cleophus Robinson, Jr. is a native of Saint Louis, Missouri and the son of the late renowned and award winning, gospel recording artist, Rev. Cleophus Robinson.

The professional career of Cleophus Robinson, Jr. began at the age of nine, singing with his father the hymn entitled, "I Love the Lord; He Heard My Cry". As time has progressed, he has emerged into the gospel industry as an entity for himself. The artistic talents of Rev. Robinson include gifted vocalist, musician; former radio personality for WESL, KSTL, and Gospel 1600. If combined, Rev. Robinson's total years in radio would exceed twenty. His melodious voice exudes multioctave capabilities. His unique style and ability to escalate musical scales while melodiously shifting musical gears is unparalleled and unprecedented in the elite class of gospel music's finest.

Rev. Robinson, Jr. entered the Gospel Preaching Ministry simultaneously with launching his musical career. His first sermon was, "In the Beginning", from which Genesis 1:1 was his text. He has completed national recordings such as "Keep on Stepping" which was his first solo album, recorded at the age of 17 on a subsidiary label of Nashboro records; "Consolation" on Savoy Records, as well as "Back Again" and "What You Need - live at Bethlehem" on Malaco Records. His vocal talents have coupled with such artists as his father, Rev. Cleophus Robinson, Sr; The King James Version, Levi II King, Gregg Haynes, Baby Al Caldwell, Shadrach Robinson (his younger brother), the Faith United Choir of Saint Louis, and Phoebe Hines. His electrifying instrumental musical talents were utilized by such greats as Shirley Caesar, Marla Gibbs of the famed comedy show "The Jeffersons". He also played and/or performed with such greats as the late Rev. James Cleveland, the Williams Brothers, Jesse Dixon, Rev. Al Green, Rev. Rance Allen, Pastor John P. Kee, Rev. James Moore, Little Richard, the Canton Spirituals, the late Rosetta Thorpe, Clara Ward and the Ward Singers, B.B. King, William Rainier and United for Christ, Edwin and Walter Hawkins. He served as special staff for the march on Washington and worked with Dr. Bill Cosby, the late Sammy Davis, Jr., Gil Scott Herron, Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King III, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Family.

During the pastorship of his late father at Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church, Rev. Robinson Jr. served as the skilled minister of music. That season encompassed the appearance of a number of world-renowned figures such as the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Ralph Abernathy, Rev. Benjamin Hooks, Rev. Joseph Lowery, Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King III. He rendered the introduction of special guest Ethel Waters, as well. His affiliation with renowned figures is too voluminous to encompass. Rev. Robinson, Jr's theatrical resume' began with the role of father in the the stageplay, "Be Careful What You Pray For" featuring Shirley Murdock and Cuba Gooding of the "Main Ingredients." Following this was a variety of plays with Willie D. Brown Productions, "Talk is Cheap"; "It Takes More Than Just Saying No", "The Love of Money", and a Mike Harper Production "The Fight For Amazing Love," and "The Motown Revue". Cleophus Robinson, Jr., former Stellar Award nominee, is happy to be not only a carrier of The Word, but also a vocalist with the fruit from His lips that will be digested by many.
