The Smashing Pumpkins es una banda estadounidense de rock alternativo formada en Chicago, Illinois, en 1988.2

Tras disolverse el 23 de diciembre de 2000, la agrupación anunció por medio de su sitio web oficial, el 20 de abril de 2006, una reunión y la grabación de un nuevo álbum. Dicha reunión finalmente se concretó el 22 de mayo de 2007, con la primera presentación en vivo del grupo, tras siete años, en el teatro Le Grand Rex de París, Francia.
