User Album Review
Brothers Osborne returns with their sophomore album Port St Joe today and it is an absolute beauty. A sublime collection of finely crafted songs to whet the appetite, and get your groove on! It would be unfair to just say this is a Country album; it is rich in Classic Rock roots with huge sing along Pop-Rock chorus that are easy on the ear. The guys stepped out of their comfort zones to write an album to follow up a highly successful debut Pawn Shop, in doing so Port Saint Joeflows like a river, all ten tracks seamlessly carry you on a sonic journey through the hearts and minds of Brothers Osborne and embrace you all the way.
Whilst it may be unfair to simply call this a Country album, it is everything a great contemporary album should be. Steeped in lyrical quality, the song writing envelopes you as every memorable Country album does. There’s a swagger within these ten tracks that reminds you of the likes of The Cadillac Three, a gritty backbone and technical flare that just oozes class. Songs like ‘Shoot Me Straight’ just make you grin ear to ear. As fine an album, as you’ll hear all year.
