"Leave the Light On" is the eleventh full length studio album of American folk/blues singer /songwriter Chris Smither, first released in 2006 on the Signature Sounds label. The song, "Origin of Species" was named #42 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of 100 Best Songs of the Year 2006. For the recording, Smither reunited with producer David Goodrich and session musicians Mike Piehl, Lou Ulrich and Anita Suhanin.
