Livio Picotti is an architect and a musician. He treads on a particular path, a synthesis between musical, vocal, sensory-acoustic and spiritual research. Since 1980, his concerts and recordings have gained prestigious international recognition and received praise and awards from specialized magazines.
Born in Gorizia, he lived in Venice, Padua and Montepulciano (Siena), and since 2011 he lives in Lucca.
He has a degree in Piano and Didactic Singing and he has taught Conducting of Choir for Music Didactic at the Conservatory of Rovigo (1988-2012). Furthermore, he has been teaching Seminars of Chanting and Spirituality at the Abbey of S. Antimo in Montalcino, (Siena) since 1996 to date (Vox Christi, Gregorian Choir, Sing and Walk).He is director of the Ensembles CAPELLA DVCALE VENETIA, Choir CANTUS ANTHIMI, Choir Voxalia ensemble Lucca, Choir of the Center for Ancient Music in Padua (1980-1990), and Chapel of S.Cecilia of Lucca’s Cathedral (2011-2012). Since 1986 he is a promoter of Teacher training courses in FUNCTIONAL SINGING in collaboration with the Lichtenberger Institut fur Gesang und Instrumental Spiel, by Gisela Rohmert, of workshops in Mouvement Sensorielle by Danis Bois, and worskshops of Authentic Dance by Wes Howard.
He is ARTISTIC DIRECTOR of the Cultural Association CENTRO RICERCA VOCALE of Venice, Montepulciano and Lucca.
