Signe Bakke (born October 7, 1958) is a Norwegian pianist and associate professor at the Grieg Academy, University of Bergen, where she has been employed since 1992.
Biography:
Signe Bakke has studied at the Bergen Music Conservatory and at the Norwegian Music Academy. She debuted at the University's Aula in Oslo in 1981 with the support of the National Concerts and graduated in 1986.
Signe Bakke is an active pianist who has been a soloist with several Norwegian orchestras. She has participated in the Bergen Festival, Olavsfestdagene, Ultimafestivalen and Autunnale. She has also been touring the Kingdom concerts. She is also active as chamber musician and as accompanist with specialization in the song repertoire. Every year she gives a number of concerts at Troldhaugen. Under the direction of Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen, she has released two albums of piano music by Edvard Grieg.
